Crew Expectations

As a crew member of Z in the Middle Productions you will be expected to show up on time and willing to work hard and fast for many hours. On the job training will be provided. You will be expected to learn many different jobs for a myriad of projects. Flexibility and a good attitude are required. Imagination and creativity will be your best assets as a crew member. Many times we are presented with a situation that has not yet been attempted and we will rely on everyone in the company to solve the problem and get the show going. Being a part of this crew will require a good resolve and creative intelligence. Teamwork is a major part of Z in the Middle.

Pre-production stages will be shorter days, 4-6 hours, only 4 days a week. The two weeks before opening night and the days of the shows expect to work 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week. Closing night, a party will be held in reward for everyone's hard work. Post production weeks will consist of a two hour concept meeting twice a week until the next project presents itself. Then with the new project the cycle continues. This schedule will vary slightly as project requirements change. Dates, times, and locations will change regularly to accommodate production schedules.

Crew titles and responsibilities will vary depending on your abilitities and what is needed for the event. In many situations you will be needed for a number of tasks to hit the deadlines and schedules. Creativity is your best asset. We will embark on new kinds of projects frequently and require you to be flexible and mentally prepared.
